    Adobe Photoshop help

Post by Nameless Blue Fairy on Thu Jul 12, 2012 4:54 pm

    Hi,
Recently, I acquire an older version Adobe Photoshop. CS4
I have problem with it's auto scrolling when you zoom
First, I zoom it to 400%
Next I select the Polygonal Lasso
Then, when i am near the edge, it suddenly scroll really fast
I ended up creating a huge lassoed area outside the canvas

Originally the scrolling suppose to be Alt+ mouse scroll
This scrolling method has become disable when zoom, then select Polygonal Lasso
How do i turn off this Auto-scrolling ? or at least slow it down
I prefer the Alt+Mouse scroll method

That kind of problem never encounter to me and I'm using PS3.
Maybe is there any kind of enable/disable automatic scrolling animation?
You can check it on preferences.
If there isn't any, maybe there is a problem with the OS.
Are you using MAC or Windows? 32 bit or 64 bit?

    PS3? Oh! Photoshop version 3
Your version is even older than mine
I was thinking Playstation for a second Wink
I am using windows xp 32 bit

I did search for disable option.
There are none, Nothing in edit -> preferences
I guess i have to do it bit by bit
Create a smaller lassoed area and stay away from edge

    PS3 = Play station 3... Lol:

Actually, there are several types of computer which are not compatilbe with Photoshop (any kind).
My friend bought an HP laptop with 2GB RAM, she installed CS5 and looks like it's crashed with her laptop.
Still woring but, there is something odd with it (perhaps similar with your situation)..
When we go back and ask the vendor, he said it happens a lot when installing Photoshop into an HP.
No one knows why.. And the worst thing, the program works slower in her laptop rather than my old laptop.
My laptop is Toshiba Portege 2007, 1GB RAM... Very Happy
    Strange but it happens..
